Hi Pierre, yes, thanks for sharing too.

(...)

About what we do with these old devices, it's more of a hobby to remember times past, our childhood, but also to do what we didn't have time to do a long time ago (I speak for myself of course). But it is also a tool for work and pleasure. For collectors, it's a bit of a trace of history and being able to compare what was once high technology.

There is always something to learn from our past. This Organizer 2 had a personality, this case was unique and robust, built to last. Can we say the same thing about our electronic devices today?

Interesting update on the Psion use in Bach Flower remedies! Chris Pulster is selling an XP in his online store and mentions that they are still in use.
I sold a P464 to a German Apotheke address recently, which made me wonder if it was used for that purpose. The Apotheke sold Bach flower extracts. :x

I agree with you @yves - programming my PSION is instead of crossword or sudoku puzzles. It also peels back 30ish years.

Yves wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 1:54 pm Hi,

I've just bought a RamPack 256K on eBay (https://www.ebay.ca/itm/204519329030) from Pierre, made by Andrew Menadue.
Is it a prototype or a stable version?

PS: Where can I find the small "64k RAMPACK" or "256k RAMPACK" PSION stickers for the rampack case (if they still exists) and also the yellow ones for the other side usually provided with the Psion Organiser?
I have just received some stickers that I had made by a generic sticky label supplier. They had a lot of options. I made my own artwork, and decided against the 'Psion' name as that is still being used, and they aren't Psion datapacks, they are mine.

I've got the size a bit wrong and they are quite thin, thinner than the original, but the suppliers I used (https://www.stickythings.co.uk/) do sheets of one type of label, or you can mix two different designs, I think. They are fairly cheap, i bought two sheets and two designs, which was fairly expensive (£12 or so I think), but as the quantity goes up, the per sheet cost drops quite quickly.

Those are cool, I've written myself some paks, like pocket sheet. Was just looking around the forum to see if there might be any data pak sticker templates?

I don’t think there are any templates, unless there is one recently. I used to get labels professionally printed for datapacks (16k, 32k 32k low power, Comms Link, and 512k) but the minimum order was £50 and they were only per hundred, although the price per 1000 was reasonable. I’ve run out of 512k because Andrew has his own version now, along with the 256k, and Psion did not make either of those packs. I think it is a mark of respect and recognition that they should have Andrews labels on.

If you mean a template for the labels, here is the file I used for my labels, just alter the text to whatever you want. The labels came out a bit smaller than I'd like, but still OK. It might have been the cutting that the printers did that was the problem, or maybe my measuring, I'm not sure.

And I left Psion's name off as I'm not sure they'd like it on there.

'Yellow' ampak labels

Hi everyone

Correct me if I'm wrong James but I think 'raptornet' is looking for a template for the 'yellow' labels that you write the pack contents on!

I know there was one on Boris's forum but I'm not sure it made it to here.

Sincerely
Martin
