Hi everyone,
I was pleased to find my long forgotten LZ64 in a box in the loft a 3 months ago during a sort out. It was not long after seeing a youtube video about Psion Organisers and discovering Jape emulator which had rekindled my interest. My Psion had a 32K Rampak and 64K Datapak in the slots and a battery with expiry date 2004 which thankfully hadn't gone bad.
I put a new 9v battery in and was very pleased to see the organiser start up after 20 years. The Rampak was empty but the Datapak had Notepad files from 1991 and some simple OPL programs.
Thanks to this site and Martin's Comms guide and Jaap's site I've been able to get the comms link working with my Windows 11 PC and my Raspberry Pi 5 using DOSBOX.
As the LZ64 is very quiet and sometimes goes completely silent which a few gentle taps to the side and back seems to fix I've since added an XP, an other LZ64 and today a P464 to keep myself occupied.
Anyway, enough rambling on for the time being.
Cheers Stephen

Re: Hello all
Hello Stephen,
The sounder is a piezo device that is behind the metal portion at the back of the Organiser. Some Organisers have two small springs to make the connection from the board - and a bit of emery paper or a fibreglass pencil can clean the contact points. If you feel comfortable having a go, there are three screws on the back, keep it face-down and the springs won’t make a leap of freedom.
