Hi all, another Organiser II user

Post by hugojpinto »

Hi!

So, my name is Hugo, and I write you from sunny Portugal. Just recently got an Organizer II XP (and will probably go down the rabbit hole to an LZ64 eventually).

I have a funny story with the Psion Organiser family: long long ago when I was 18, me and a friend started selling "computer programs" to whomever would hire us. The first program was an Invoicing / Accounting aggregation for a Gas Cylinder (remember those?) distribution company, which used Psion Organiser devices to account for Cylinders sold/exchanged. We would receive the exported transaction files and consolidate those for fiscal purposes. Back then I never had deep pockets myself, so I never got one of the devices myself.

Many many years passed, and getting a Psion Organiser was always on the bucket list. I eventually gave in on it a couple weeks ago, and got myself an XP, the same model they used back then.

Since I started programming OPL for it (got myself working on a Chrome Dinosaur game clone), I searched for resources, and inevitably got myself here!

Introduction duties done ;)

All the best!

Hi and welcome Hugo

I've just looked up 'Chrome Dinosaur game' and an implementation would be perfect for the XP. I look forward to giving it a try!

I've compiled a list of available Organiser II games (here) and one day it would be great to add yours to it.

If you didn't get a manual with your XP there is a PDF copy (here).

To know which version of XP you have use the Calculator and type CALC:PEEKB(-24)

Code: Select all

	Model RAM
1 XP 16K
2 XP(LA) 32K
Great to welcome 'new' users to the forum...
Sincerely Martin

HI Martin,

Thanks for the welcome and the links.

Mine is the 32k version, with a 128k FLASH Data Pak (for which I have a question and will open a new topic).

Best,

Hugo
