Hello!

Post by taylan »

Hello Everyone!

First of all, I would like to thank Martin for sending me the member activation email.
My father (a retired journalist) used a PSION 90s in Turkey, and his PSION have been sitting in our drawer for years until I I came across Martin's amazing YouTube videos and website 4 years ago, which helped me understand exactly what the PSION was for.
PSION wasn’t common in Turkey in the 90s; he bought it during a visit to the UK, and it became one of his essentials for years, as he used to say.

I can't say I use it actively, but I love these old-school electronic devices. My near-future plan is to buy a data pack and start using it actively.
Thanks again, Martin, for bringing people together in this amazing source of information forum.

Hi Taylan

Thanks for the shout out, I'm just happy to see 'new' Organiser II users...

If you are considering Organiser II purchases I would suggest a Private Message to Peter (thesourcerer) who runs the PowerfulPierre eBay store. He will be able to guide you on purchases.

Can I make a couple of suggestions

(1) If you have an LZ/LZ64 and you are going to use it as a PDA (Persoan Digital Assistant) then Andrew's 256K Ram packs are excellent for keeping everything safe.
or
(2) If you are going to experiment with programming in OPL. Then I would suggest one of Andrews USB Comms Links and one of his 32k Ram packs. Why the 32K I hear you ask? When you get to the stage of MAKEing program packs then the 32K Ram pack in C: saves a lot of time UV formatting and 'burning' Datapaks (over and over) while are you debug everything.
or
(3) If you are using an XP then I suggest xpTOOLs in B: and a Rampack in C:

I'll be interested to hear what your thoughts are.

Sincerely
Martin

PS you will see that 1333David is writing a Golf analysis program for his XP - and Gary Hawes wanted an Amateur Radio User Logging Program for his LZ64. If you have something you are really interested in - maybe something there!
